Chartered in 1898, Edgewood Country Club is the oldest private country club in West Virginia, welcoming families, couples, and individuals for generations. Edgewood Country Club has two locations: the Main Clubhouse, located in the Edgewood Historic District of Charleston, WV, and the Derrick's Creek Clubhouse, located in nearby Sissonville, WV, home to the Club's George Cobb-designed 18-hole golf course, pro shop, and 19th Hole restaurant. The Main Clubhouse is the center of activity, anchored by a full-service dining room and grill, along with four Har-Tru clay tennis courts, pickleball courts, squash doubles and singles courts, state-of-the-art aquatic and fitness facilities, modern ballroom, and meeting and event spaces.
Position: Bookkeeper & Accounts Receivable/Payable Specialist
Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper & Accounts Receivable Specialist will perform assigned duties within accounts payable, accounts receivable, bi-weekly payroll, inventory functions, and general accounting entries. This is a full time, year-round, in-office position with flexibility weekly schedule, but requires 30 to 40 hours per week of in-office time.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Reviews accounts payable invoices, assigns vendor numbers and similar identifying data, and confirms correct accounting codes were used.
• Enters vendor information into accounting software system; verifies that invoice information is entered correctly.
• Issues payments to vendors as approved.
• Processes routine monthly payments as approved.
• Answers vendor questions by researching accounts.
• Processes payroll and performs all associated tasks including monthly and quarterly reports for state and federal agencies.
• Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
• Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
• Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.
• Assists in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
• Assists in reconciling revenue accounts each month.
• Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.
• Relays changes of information to appropriate employees.
• Generates monthly payroll reports for management.
• Generates monthly financial reports for the Board of Governors
• Prepares monthly inventory control reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Experience with accounting software or programs.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required, with some bookkeeping coursework. Associate’s degree preferred, but not required.
• One year of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Compensation:
• Salaried Position: $38,000 to $42,000/annually
