Events Coordinator

Edgewood Country Club is seeking an Event Coordinator to develop contracts for and oversee all administrative and operational aspects of preparing and serving banquet events and club events. Meets with event hosts and plans every detail of their event with them. Works with food & beverage, and other departments when needed, to ensure Host’s expectations are exceeded. Promotes the club’s banquet events, business and social meetings, and other member-related activities.
Job tasks will include:
- Promotes the clubs social event facilities to all members and sponsored guest.
- Helps members/hosts arrange banquets, luncheons, meetings, weddings, dances and other social events; obtains pertinent information needed for guest planning; facilitates the same for Club events.
- Provides host tours and offers suggestions in efforts to sell the merits of the club’s facilities for the occasion being planned.
- Works with Executive Chef to determine selling prices for catered events; creates and maintains printed menus provided to members/hosts in both a la Carte dining and banquet events; oversees the development of contracts as needed.
- Suggests menu and helps hosts plan menu in conjunction with the Executive Chef and/or other culinary personnel as needed.
- Transmits necessary information to and conducts event planning with production, serving and housekeeping staffs; arranges for printing of menu and procuring of decorations and entertainment.
- Inspects finished arrangement of events; may be present to oversee and/or facilitate the actual service and greeting of guests.
- Checks special function sheets against room set-up, oversees personnel scheduling for special functions and may help supervise service personnel.
- Oversees scheduling of periodic food and beverage service employee meetings to assure correct interpretation of club policies.
- Handles member/host complaints as needed.
- Maintains past and potential client files; schedules calls/visits to assess on-going needs of prospective clients for catering services.
- Helps plan and operate external and internal marketing and sales promotion activities for the food operation; promotes the Club at local wedding shows, trade shows and special community events by planning, setting up a booth, and working the booth during these events.
- Helps develop catering sales budgets; reviews financial reports and takes corrective actions as appropriate.
- Helps hosts with parking, entertainment, decorations, audio/visual and any other requirements integral to events being planned.
Compensation and Benefits will include:
- Annual salary between $50,000-$55,000, depending on experience
